This guy is useless. I use to know him when he and his head of research David something ran a hedge fund called Clarium that blew up in 2008. He is proof that being rich is not a function of how good you are but a random function that people try to justify with ... 'I am rich because I work hard and blah blah blah'.

Just started watching, but I want to add that monopolies are bad. That's why authorities like the EU have competition law, and the US has anti-trust law. We need more such law, that are stronger and stricter in fighting against and punishing anti-competitive monopolistic behavior. Also, Thiel is morally bankrupt person, because of his support for evil in the US. That goes without saying, but I wanted to watch this video to see if there were any pieces of information of value that could be discerned from his generally bad beliefs.

The value of the art and other valuables stolen by Hermann Göring (1893-1946) was greater than the total lifetime earnings of the Wright Brothers. Göring's early claim to fame was as an airplane pilot in WWI. Of course, we cannot blame the Wright Brothers for how people eventually used their invention, or for who benefited from it. In the video, Peter Thiel seems to be focused not so much on comparing potential benefit to potential harm, but comparing potential benefit to potential absence of benefit. The likely prospect of zero returns in exchange for a combination of money, effort, and time invested in some venture is -- or ought to be -- enough of a signal to prevent the vast majority of people from getting involved in such ventures.

Great video ✅From a technical point of view, the major challenges investors face may range from controlling impulsiveness to the frail of compulsion. Most newbies and most investors often undermine & often neglect the Importance of technical Analysis with regard to trading. Technical analysis overly predicts the movement of asset prices Regardless of what is happening in the broad of market. Although i fancy trading over hodling, because of its productivity and extra information on crypto by and large. Though am not kicking against Hodl, but i find trading productive and it can be difficult which is why i find expert opinion in trading has always being a guide for me and i have enjoyed the signal service from a few with some losses unt:l i started copying trades alert from Mr David Steward to mine for the past 6 weeks and i have seen difference in my portfol:o as my portfol:o has increased massively to 5.5 btc with my initial 1.2 btc . Maybe observe simple problems that afflict you , your fiends and family, create a prototype and solve your problem. Try it on your family and fiends and if it works, then determine if any elements of the solution can be patented and/or copyrighted and/or trademarked. Then sell it and scale accordingly.

About scientists being delusional (in what Thiel describes them being like for not seeking monetary reward) around 29m-30m: innovator-scientists do not "capture the value" because very often by their inherent value system/scientific training and/or creative mindset (from all of which innovation comes as a sort of consequence) do not seek to capture and limit progress; they are not seeking of becoming greedy captivators but more likely seek to become something like liberators; of course, their work is highly exploited anyways for profit motif and obsolete market society dynamics (which were progressive 200 years ago and pulled us out of middle ages but now are more often becoming detrimental to our further progress towards humane/rational and efficient civilization and sustainability). Sometimes those creative geniuses, scientific inventors either due to their critical thinking or due to their creative -out of the box thinking "see right through" market society values and especially - a profit seeking motif, as the Number 1 barrier to faster human progress in the long run and as such they most likely go for their "silent revenge" and passive resistance form to this selfishness manifestation by not "capturing" (like into a prison) the value of their discovery hoping that it is best way to serve even currently blind society towards its problematic race towards futuristic society were no one works more then 2,3 days a week and lives better than presently. Mentally, such scientific innovators are above monetary system with its primitive values. You can look at them as rare human beings that found ways to transcend market society values (thanks to Science and Art and help of patrons and almighty Probability with Luck events) :l

its interesting that PLTR frequently minimizes the amount of competition in the data OS space. between 7:00-8:00, peter discusses how monopolistic businesses (peter good) lie to create the appearance of having competition in a large shared space to appear non-monopolistic. Conversely, he also discusses how non-monopolistic businesses (peter bad) lie to create the illusion of being a large player in a niche space. PLTR states many times over that their only competition is a business' desire to build its own product. This would seem to follow the pattern of lies told by a non monopolistic business (peter bad). confusing...

Bad example with Albert Einstein. In what way is it his fault that our civilization was hundreds of years away from monetising special or general relativity? Was he supposed to throw his brilliant ideas into the bin instead of developing and publishing them? He worked in a patent office - he knew quite well what could be monetised and what could not. This is the best argument for antitrust regulation made yet! Just listen to Thiel pulling back the veil. Markets never naturally reach perfect competition. That’s total BS. Thiel shows that competition will only exist if governments work against the natural impulse of businesses to monopolization. He also admits that scientists rarely capture the monetary value of their innovations and suffer from a great delusion. Ouch. Maybe they are not delusional and they are not driven by personal profit but genuine desire to discover, innovate and improve the world.

'Einstein didn't get to be a billionaire, not even a millionaire - the Wright Brothers didn't make any money.... they didn't get rewarded for the value they created.... most scientists are fundamentally deluded that they'll be rewarded for their work." - Peter Thiel Oh Peter. Such a narrow view of value. The world knows their names, generations studies their contributions - they changed the course of human history. You may be a billionaire and enjoy all the trappings of material wealth, but you'll be a quickly forgotten footnote in a very long list of rich people in the 21st Century.... your impact outside of yourself is marginal - Einstein & his ideas are is immortal - he changed the world - measure the value of that. In short - keep sciencing scientists! The world needs you a lot more than these greedy self-serving monopolists.
